Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, lamented Labour’s internal workings after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his outburst at a meeting as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Internal papers and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
