Tadej Pogačar took the victory in Stage 19 on July 24. The Slovenian rider attacked early on Alpe d'Huez and finished well ahead. Only Richard Carapaz gave chase closely. Pogačar's group faced unwell team riders earlier in the stage but he kept strong. His lead widened on the last climbs. Two days prior, Carapaz picked up Stage 18 just seconds back.
